Trips
All kayak tours include a lesson for beginners and are loosely structured to suit clients' needs. Equipment and gear is provided. Groups up to 6 persons can be accommodated. Bring along a snack, a bottle of water, a camera and wear something comfortable.
Spanish Room - Paddle the inlet where Spanish fishing vessels visited hundreds of years ago. Harbour seals often accompany the kayaks as we make our way out to Tizzard's Cove or Gould's Cove. Nesting Bald Eagles are a sight to behold. Two or three hour trip.
Little Bay to Sandy Point - Launch your kayak at the beach near Jerome Walsh's Museum. We will do a little practice session in the shelter of Little Bay, and then head out around Paddy Head, past the Long Shore Gardens to Sandy Point. We can go ashore if you want before returning. Two hour trip.
Swift Current - Paddle your kayak from the boat launch near Kilmory Resort across the inlet and land. Jumping salmon and bald eagles are often seen. Here we have the option to hike the waterfall over a granite outcrop. What a view from the top! Rates listed above may not apply. 3 hour trip.
Collins' Cove to Shalloway - Collins' Cove is one of the many communities in historic Burin. We leave the slipway and make our way out the run, along the shores of Great Burin Island to Shalloway. Steep cliffs are a prominent feature of this tour. This trip has an optional hike along the trail on Great Burin. 3 hour or half day trip.
Little Bay to Duricle - Depart Little Bay and cruise along the shore which features sandy beaches and majestic cliffs. Paddle into the tiny community of Beau Bois and then continue on to Duricle for a well deserved rest. Return to Little Bay. Half day trip.
Grand Bank - When conditions are suitable the cliffs at "The Cape", just outside Grand Bank, are truly an awesome sight. From your kayak seat you will be amazed at the natural beauty of this area. A booking of at least 4 people is needed to get the rates above. Two or three hour trip.
Burin Bay Arm - On this tour you will leave Salt Pond, paddle past Lewin's Cove and Beyond to Wandsworth or Epworth. Several beaches are available for a rest. Your perspective of the surrounding communities is altered forever once you've paddled Burin. Two or three hour trip.
